Born to Become - Part 8

Updated: Dec 9, 2021

We’ve all been divinely designed for our own unique ministry. But being prepared is not the same as participating. You can be empowered and still not be engaged. The most important part of serving the Lord is to get busy and develop your personal ministry.

Here is how the Apostle Paul put it in Romans 12:4-5, “Just as there are many parts to our bodies, so it is with Christ’s body. We are all parts of it, and it takes every one of us to make it complete, for we each have different work to do. So, we belong to each other, and each needs all the others.”

You see, the body of Christ – the church – is made up of many parts. We’re all different. Look around. Nobody is like you. Nobody looks like you, nobody smells like you. (Don’t test that theory right now, please.)

God designed us that way. God loves variety. God made us all different and we all need each other.

If you have a jigsaw puzzle and one piece is missing what do you naturally focus on? The one piece that’s missing.

We all have a job to do. We all have different roles, different ministries. If all of the parts did the same thing it wouldn’t be effective. You cannot be what God made you to be without a church family. And the church can’t be what God wants it to be without your personal ministry.

You can be saved by yourself, but you can’t fulfill your purpose in life by yourself. You have to be connected to the body of Christ and serving in your own personal ministry.

Matthew 16:27 (NIV), “For the Son of Man will come in the glory of His Father with His angels, and then He will reward each according to what they have done.”

Your Spiritual SHAPE is your Ministry Sweet Spot. It has been given to you to help you fulfill God’s purpose for your life. It is no accident that you are the way that you are. The acronym S.H.A.P.E. describes the way you were uniquely designed by God to serve him according to your S – spiritual gifts, H – heartfelt burdens, A – abilities and talents, and P – personality, and E – experiences.

God created you on purpose – for a purpose. And when you are ministering within the body of Christ in your Sweet Spot, you will experience a level of joy and fulfillment that you cannot find anywhere else – And you will also be laying up treasure in heaven that will last forever.

What type of ministry would you be involved in if you knew that you would be successful? Just choose a starting point and let the Holy Spirit direct you. Now is the time!

Ecclesiastes 11:4, “If you wait for perfect conditions, you will never get anything done.”
